Purex Dyer Sheets and Coupon Giveaway #sponsored #purexinsiders

Posted by Debra Gray-Elliott at 11:00 PM 14 comments
Disclosure: Purex provided me with a sample of Purex Dryer Sheets in exchange for a product review. However, all the opinions expressed here are my own.

Laundry stinks...literally! I used to dread laundry day in my house. If you have a boy, then you have stinky laundry! Between the stinky socks and muddy clothes, I had to hold my nose until I discovered Purex Dyer Sheets.

I'm lucky enough to be a Purex Insider and with that comes the perks of getting to try new products. I've used Purex dryer sheets before and the fragrance just didn't last, but when I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised by the scent of sweet lavender, even the coupons smell wonderful.

The new Purex Dryer Sheets have 3X the fragrance, which is a big welcome in my stinky house. Of course they're great for stinky laundry, but also great for pet odor as well. I love to rub them on my dog between shampoos. Purex Dryer Sheets have multiple uses, but laundry and pet odor are my favorite ways to use new and improved Purex Dryer Sheets in Sweet Lavender. My laundry and pet have never smelled so good...

Three lucky readers will win a coupon for a free box of Purex Dryer Sheets in your choice of two scents: Mountain Breeze and Sweet Lavender. All you need to do is enter on the Rafflecopter below. US only. Contest ends 8/12. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Reading Kingdom Review

Posted by Debra Gray-Elliott at 2:13 PM 0 comments

Product Description
Reading Kingdom is an award-winning online program that teaches children 4-10 to read and write to a 3rd grade level. The program is based on the work of Dr. Marion Blank from Columbia University, one of the world's top experts on reading and language development. It uses her patented and research based "6-SIM" (Six Skill Integrated Method) technique that yields incredible results.

There are a lot of online reading programs out there and this one is geared for children ages 4-10. I had my nine year old grandson log on and actually got him to review the program. The first thing he noticed were the bright colors and graphics. This was a plus for him. He's special needs and bright colors help him focus. I gave that aspect of the program 5 stars.

Now for the negative. The one thing my grandson complained about and made him lose quick interest was he had to take a placement test, which was long and drawn out. He gets bored very easily and I think Reading Kingdom may need to work on this particular aspect of their program. Other than this one negative, once he got past the placement hurdle, he actually enjoyed the program.

I would recommend this online reading and writing program for parents of children who do not have special needs or get bored easily.

You can sign up for a risk free 30 day trial.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Easy Canvas Prints makes ordering easy and if the picture you choose will not look well, they also let you know as well. When you place an order, you'll receive an email letting you know if everything is acceptable and the turnaround time is about 3-4 weeks from start to finish. Adults Pirate Costume Review

Posted by Debra Gray-Elliott at 10:26 AM 1 comments

Ahoy Matey! It's pirate time in the Elliott house...

My nine year old grandson Cameron loves to play pretend and dress up. One of his favorite person to be is a pirate. He's a big fan of Pirate's of the Caribbean, so when I got a chance to review a costume from Buy Costumes.com, he was thrilled.

Cameron chose the Apocalypse Pirate Adult Costume. When the costume arrived he couldn't wait to try it on. He was a little disappointed that all the pirate goodies weren't included. I have to admit, I was too! No sword or boots come with the costume, but Cameron survived.

The costume was made well although there was one flaw. The buckles were backwards and we couldn't get them in front other than that, the Apocalypse Pirate Adult Costume was a great!

The costume included jacket, pants, ascot, sash, and a bandanna. We chose the adult size small, which the jacket barely fit around Cameron's waist. The pants were a great fit. Cameron had a ball trying on his costume and playing pirate. I have to give this costume four stars.

Cameron plays in his costume regularly and loves it. This costume is durable and will probably last until Halloween. This year he's going to be a pirate!

Would I purchase another costume from Buy Costumes.com? Probably. The costumes are priced reasonably and the workmanship seems to be okay. If you have a little pirate in your house, you can save 76% off the regular price of the Apocalypse Pirate Adult Costume. Regular priced at $56.99, you can buy it for only $13.79 on clearance.

He's no land lubber, he be a sea sailin' fella!

Prepare for an evening of pillage and plunder in the Apocalypse Pirate ensemble this Halloween! Costume includes a black and red jacket with faux leather straps, contrasting black and gold pants, a matching ascot, a red sash, and bandana.

  • Available in adult sizes: Small, Medium, and Large.
  • Includes: Jacket, pants, ascot, sash, and bandana.
  • Does not include: Sword or boots.
  • Pair with your favorite pirate maiden for a great couples theme this Halloween!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My ABC of God Loves Me Review and Giveaway #sponsored

Posted by Debra Gray-Elliott at 6:20 AM 10 comments
Disclosure: I received a copy for review from Tommy Nelson Kids. However, all opinions are my own.

One of the first things we teach our children is their ABC's, but we sometimes forget to teach them the ABC's of God and how much He loves them.

When I received this cute little padded board book, I couldn't wait to wait to share with my grandson Cameron. My ABC's of God Loves Me is for children ages 1-7 ans as most of my readers know my grandson is nine, but is special needs. This little board book was perfect for him. It's a sweet book that will reinforce God's love for children while learning the alphabet and colors were bright and kept him focused.

While teaching the alphabet, My ABC of God Loves Me also teaches God loves your child. Sometimes that is difficult for a child to understand, but this book is the perfect tool. Cameron and I give it 5 stars.

An adorable board book that spells out God’s love to little ones!
Christian parents are constantly looking for ways to integrate faith into every facet of life. By combining learning concepts with basic biblical principles of God’s love, children learn about faith alongside foundational language skills.  With beautiful illustrations and whimsical rhyming text, this padded board book is a soft but durable format for little hands to carry. Kids will enjoy learning about the alphabet, and parents will delight in reminding young hearts of the wonderful ways God shows His love for His children.
My ABC of God Loves Me is available for $6.99 or you can win a copy on the Rafflecopter below.

#sponsored Storm Review and Giveaway

Posted by Debra Gray-Elliott at 7:55 AM 2 comments
Disclosure: I received a copy of Storm for review from Tommy Nelson Kids. However, all opinions are my own.

Storm by Evan Angler is book #3 in an apocalypic, dystopian fiction series. Although, my grandson has not read the first two books in the series, he loves Storm.

In a future United States under the power of a charismatic leader, everyone gets the Mark at age thirteen. The Mark lets citizen shop, go to school, and even get medical care—without it, you are on your own. Few refuse to get the Mark. Those who do . . . disappear.
Logan Langly went in to get his Mark, but he backed out at the last minute. Ever since, he’s been on the run from government agents and on a quest to find his sister Lily, who disappeared when she went to get her Mark five years earlier. His journey leads him to befriend the Dust, a vast network of Markless individuals who dissent against the iron-grip rule of the government. Along the way to the capital to find Lily, the Dust receive some startling information from the Markless community, opening their eyes to the message of Christianity and warning that humanity is now entering the End of Days.
In Storm, Logan and his friends are the leaders of the Markless revolution. But while some Markless are fighting Chancellor Cylis’ army, the Dust is busy trying to find a cure for a horrible epidemic sweeping through the Marked. And it's difficult for them to know who to trust, especially when they aren't sure if Logan's sister Lily, one of the commanders in Cylis' army, is on their side or not. And all across the nation—and the world—the weather has become less stable and a storm is brewing that bigger than any of them could have ever imagined.
Storm is geared toward pre-teens 8-11. It's one of those books your pre-teen won't put down. Cameron reads it over and over. It's thrilling, it's powerful, it's on the edge of your seat reading.
Cameron gives it two thumbs up and so do I. You can buy a copy of Storm for only $9.99 from Tommy Nelson Kids or enter to win a copy on the Rafflecopter below.

The Blessings Jar Review and Giveaway-#sponsored

Posted by Debra Gray-Elliott at 8:40 AM 11 comments
Disclosure: I received a product from Tommy Nelson Mommy in exchange for this review. However, all opinions are my own.

The Blessings JarA Story About Being Thankful by Colleen Coble is a wonderful little book geared toward young children ages 2-5. The Blessing Jar teaches young children the importance of thankfulness, celebrates the bond between grandparent and grandchild, and shows children the wonders God has places all around them. This over-sized board book format is perfect for little hands.

God gives us so many blessings. Let’s look and see all we have to be thankful for!
Alexa Grace is having a bad day, but then Grandma arrives with something special for "Grandma's Little Punky Grace"—an Ebenezer jar that she thinks is very peculiar. Grandma explains that an Ebenezer is a “stone of help” and represents God’s blessings. Alexa Grace wonders if she can fill the jar with some of God’s blessings. She goes on the hunt with her furry Newfoundland puppy and Grandma, and Alexa Grace's new blessing jar soon overflows with God’s wonders.
Filled with charming artwork, this heartwarming book is the first preschool children’s title by bestselling author Colleen Coble. The Blessings Jar celebrates the bond between grandparents and grandchildren and teaches little ones an important lesson about recognizing even the smallest of God’s blessings and being thankful for them all.
Although my grandson is nine, he is special needs and The Blessings Jar was perfect for him to read. This little board book brought a ray of thankfulness into his life. Even though The Blessings Jar is for younger children, I think it's important that all children learn about all the blessings around them. This little board book actually teaches children not to take anything for granted in a positive way they will understand. Cameron and I give The Blessing Jar 5 stars.

Be sure to print out these great coloring sheets for your child and you to color together.

You can purchase The Blessings Jar for $12.99 or win a copy by entering on the Rafflecopter below.
