National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day (Awareness Day) 2016 is Thursday, May 5.

Each year, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association (SAMHSA) holds National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day to raise awareness for children’s mental health issues. This year’s event -- themed Finding Help. Finding Hope. -- is all about access to these care services – what resources are available and how they can be found.

People can attend the event in DC on May 5th or - for the first time - participate in the onstage discussion online during the Awareness Day Live! Webcast. If you’d like to get involved in the conversation, here is how:

·       Attend the free Event:
May 5th, 7:00pm EST
The George Washington University School of Media & Public Affairs’ Jack Morton Auditorium
805 21st St NW, Washington, DC 20052
·       Watch live via Awareness Day Live!: https://nvite.com/HeroesOfHope/ae59
